Phi - Phi, Bamboo, fishing
The Phi Phi Islands are an archipelago consisting of six islands, but landing is allowed on only three of them — Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Leh, and Bamboo (Bounty).
The largest of them is Phi Phi Don Island, which has a large number of hotels, shops, and cafés. This island of the archipelago is also known for its dynamic nightlife.
The second largest—and the most beautiful—is Phi Phi Leh Island. This very island is the calling card of the entire archipelago thanks to the famous Maya Bay, where the film “The Beach” starring Leonardo DiCaprio was shot. In early 2022 the island was reopened after more than three years. It had been closed to restore the ecosystem, which had been severely affected by the excessive influx of tourists. At present the island is part of Phi Phi National Park. Swimming is not allowed here, but you may step a short distance into the water to take beautiful photos.
The third largest is Bamboo (Bounty) Island, with white sand and beautiful clear water.
On the islands you can encounter sea turtles, especially while snorkeling and diving. And on Bamboo Island there is a chance to see monitor lizards.
You can also observe starfish, sea snakes, sharks (usually in shallow water), and many other unique creatures.
